Eligibility

All components (entry form, videos and payment in full) for Programming Category Award entries must be received by September 1, 2023. Entries received after this closing deadline will not be eligible.

To be eligible, Programming Category Award entries must be productions originally intended for transmission on a linear television network or streaming platform, including having been significantly funded by the network/streaming platform it was intended for, and had its first broadcast or digital transmission/launch date anywhere in the world between July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. For returning series, please identify which season the episode submitted is part of. 

Please note: only non-fiction and unscripted programs will be accepted. The Realscreen Awards does not accept any entries that are live music/sporting events, talk shows, news, or man-on-the-street type interview programs. Please read category descriptions carefully in order to determine which your program is best qualified to enter.

Prior to its first transmission, the entry should not have had a major theatrical release. Entries that have had limited theatrical release will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine whether or not they can remain eligible. Please state within the field provided in the entry form whether or not your entry has had a limited theatrical release, and supply specific dates and cities.  Failure to include this information may disqualify your entry. Programs that had their first festival or limited theatrical screening during the 2022 calendar year can be eligible if the program first aired on a broadcast or cable network, or major streaming platform, within the July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 eligibility period.
