Synopsis:
In this fun, factual series comedians Josh Widdicombe and Nish Kumar immerse themselves into the unique, and often sensational world of local news, by travelling across the UK and working for a different local newspaper each week, on a mission to find real local stories that are worthy of the front page.
The pair delve into bizarre local mysteries, take part in unusual events, covering the burning issues of the day, and even enlist the help of a celebrity or two along the way. But with almost no journalistic experience, the pair have to rely on their quick wits and natural curiosity to get them by.
Highlights of the show are the duo’s many failures to hit the mark. A stand-out humiliation includes Kumar’s vain attempt to confront then prime minister, Boris Johnson, with a searing political question.
The series has been critically successful, having already been commissioned for a second series on Sky Max, and having been sold to Sweden and optioned in Finland.
